The most popular of the Buffalo Sabres may not be the clutch-scoring forward Chris Drury, or the elastic goalie Ryan Miller, or even the scowling coach with the fitting surname, Lindy Ruff.
For the Sabres to have come this far — not to the Eastern Conference finals, but simply to still exist in Buffalo — required the most memorable play in franchise history, an assist by a gray-haired man from Rochester.
Until about four years ago, Tom Golisano said, he had seen three N.H.L. games in his life. He never considered putting money into a teetering hockey franchise until he realized that no one else would, either.

I've been talking the round off after watching the Rangers lose in the last round and not really having much of a vested interest in any of the remaining teams. Know some wings fans so seeing them happy would be good, but that's the extent of it. I'll be back to watch the finals though and get the last bit of hockey I can get before the summer.
Back the article though, interesting to see what angles the times has been taking with their NHL coverage lately -- particularly that there has been some. Guess its that time of year. Interesting piece though.
