The Rangers skated with the high-flying Sabres last night and came back from a two-goal deficit, as Buffalo did here three weeks ago, to force overtime. But it's hard enough to have to face a team that good -- to have to face them on a second straight night of horrendous officiating that mostly went in their favor proved to be impossible.

the double minor to Chris Drury for bloodying Adam Hall's nose with his stick was on the followthrough of playing a puck, which is not supposed to be a penalty
I didn't know about that rule exclusion. Interesting. It doesn't seem to happen very often.

#1 - Tue Nov 28, 2006 3:21 PM ESTRule 60.1 does allow for some exclusion as part of a normal windup or follow-through. But, it also indicates that a "wild swing at a bouncing puck" is not included. That, to me, indicates that the official does have some discretion in the matter. Drury certainly was not in control of the puck. In order to fall under the exclusion, I would think that the player would clearly have to have control of the puck and be in the process of a shot or pass.
