Is it possible for a team to reach a defining moment just nine games into an 82-game season? Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snider isn't the only one who thinks so.
Though his team has played just eight games and won four, coach Tom Renney spent a second straight day yesterday heightening the sense of urgency around the Rangers. What's more, in a series of individual meetings with players and in his remarks after yesterday's practice at the MSG Training Center, Renney made it clear that several Rangers will spend tonight's home game against Florida and the four-game Western road trip that follows it playing for their spots on the roster.
Well, better to show some urgency now than wait until game 75 and realize it is way to late to do anything worth while.
