After a week of resembling some other hockey team, the Blueshirts started playing Tom Renney's positional system. And the smart defensive, opportunistic offensive, strong goaltending squad that Blueshirt Nation fell in love with last season, gave their fans a 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils.
"We had a meeting after the Buffalo game about working harder, but also working smarter," Brendan Shanahan, who scored his league leading seventh goal, said. "We have a lot of hard working guys on the team, but we got away from working together."
